Russian jewelers don't meet the demand

According to analysts, demand for expensive jewellery increases 25 % every year. At that, more often jewellery branch is seen as subject for investment. However, in spite of the fact that Russian jewellery branch has been demonstrating 25-30 % yearly production growth since the year 2000, import of the same period grew 10 times. In other words, Russian jewelers won't be able to meet the growing demand. Consequently, they will often step back in a fight for the premium segment.

"We are quite calm about it", says Valery Radashevych, the General Director of Russian Jewellers Association. "We've never arisen the problem of dues increase We think that we can deal with the market on our own, and if it comes to import of serious and high quality produce by companies, such as Tiffany, Bvlgary, Cartier – we are all for it".
