NEWS: Christies likes Russians

Senior Vice-President and senior specialist of Christies Auction House Dafna Lingen made a statement pointing out that Russian clients are of utmost importance for Christies.

"I remember a client from Russia, who sat in the first row, making the first purchase. He bought the most important piece of jewellery - diamond palm-tree brooch by Cartier. Since that time Russians have become VIP clients for Christies", - says Dafna Lingen, - "Russians have changed a lot since that period of time. There appeared intelligent clients, forming exclusive collections. They know a lot about precious stones and about their quality. History of every distinct piece of art is important for them. And what attracts them is not just huge-sized diamonds, but really worthy jewellery".

Besides, Dafna Linge noted that Russians mostly appreciate diamonds, especially colored diamonds, and they know unbelievably much about them. Buying antiques of the 19th century of various brands is not less popular among Russians, who also know perfectly the history of antiques.
